Los Angeles Lately

Living life as a redhead at the moment,IMGP4719

and just enjoying being back at the Junehouse, although I’m currently in the back house, IMGP4463

I am pretty happy as I am living with two of the coolest girls ever, Rachel and Kay. Rachel is interning at CBS seeing hot celebs everyday handling the audience and nipping in and out of the green room of the Craig Ferguson late night show, and Kay is studying film at Film LA. HOW COOL ARE THEY!?IMGP4732

It’s great to be back here in Hollywood, mainly because of my beloved friends and house mates the good atmosphere and the creative energy.

It’s springtime in LA and it’s nice to sit out on the porch again with mindless chatter and enjoying beverages and cigarettes in good company. IMGP4441

Cash only has one quarter left in MI, and he’s doing music business, he’s also got an internship going so he’s busy and tired, but he’s attendance has improved and I’m just glad he decided to stay at the Junehouse for longer, as he considered moving.IMGP4442

Joe’s writing a new project for him and Andy, now that  the Fuzz and Malloy special is done, this one is going to be longer, and will involve alot of action, will be exciting to see how it turns out, their aiming to send it to a festival. IMGP4607

My new friend Camilo works at a renewable energy company, and also as a freelance documentary maker, he’s super creative and shoots incredible material, and has just gotten a job on a tv show! I am truly starting to believe that all these incredible people I’m meeting, are going to teach me alot, and there is a reason that I’ve met them.IMGP4743

I’ve had a lot of great food lately, and goooood knows I love food. Well, I’ve overindulged, as I’m broke now.

Getting paid in not too long though, so maybe I can enjoy this incredible garlic mashed potatoe and pork chop again… Mmmm..IMGP4635

OR go back to Hard Rock Cafe! Which was awesome…

So this is Hollywood, Hollywood boulevard. Yep. The famous Chinese theatre, and the Hard Rock Cafe. I’ts alright. It’s special. And weird. But what I’m reeeeeeally here for

Is obviously the Groundlings. Intermediate is TOUGH! I’m struggling and the level is super high. I got my balls kicked from the teacher in my last class so I’m dreading tomorrow, as I don’t really have much confidence at the moment. I don’t know why. IMGP4642

But the most important thing is that I’m learning and improving. I have to remember that. Fuck it. Just have fun, and learn. I know I’m not gonna pass anyway…hahhaah. THat’s a bad attitude to have! No… I’m being realistic. Duh.

IMGP4738It’s so nice that I have family friends here, Odd and Terre are always there for me and always lend me a hand if I need something, and they are super nice. They take me out to dinner sometimes too

And they have a French friend, Michelle, who owns several restaurants in LA, and who gives us the food for free..! Awesome!

  1. Hi Jasmin,
My name is Sarah Roberts and I recently graduated from the University of Colorado in Boulder. I am moving out to LA at the end of the summer and I have become very interested in living in the loriff houses. I have talked with the managers, seen the photos and then finally searched some reviews online. In doing so, I was directed to your blog where you have talked a lot about living in these homes and the experiences you have gained from it. I will not know anyone in the city so as you can imagine (or might even personally know) the move can be a little intimidating. I was wondering if there is any way you would be willing to talk to me about your own experience living in these homes over e-mail or even facebook? So far the places look amazing and from your own personal words it seems like an amazing experience but I would love to hear more and maybe put my mind at ease a bit. My e-mail is Sarahr428@gmail.com and my facebook page is as follows: https://www.facebook.com/sarah.roberts.104 Sorry this is completely random but hopefully I will be able to talk to you soon!

Dude I am SO sorry if I didn’t get back to you!!! I really planned to..! (did iI??) Well, that just shows how out of it I’ve been! It’s a funny coincidence! I lived with a girl, Rachel from (Boulder?) Colorado! She’s still living with Lorriff but is planning to move out soon. But if you would like her details I’m sure she’d be happy to help you out! 🙂

I’d say Loriff is definately a cheap and nice option. You have to be ready to share a room with people, and enjoy the few moments you get to yourself, and appreciate and show patience in all those times when you’re surrounded by all sorts of people. 🙂

It’s a good place to start, then it gives u time to look for a more “serious” place. If that is what you want. 🙂
