I can feel something approaching.. I’m not going to lie. I am scared. It’s a big journey, and it’s a whole nother world down there. Only looking at the weather report and seeing the insane difference stirs something in me.
I’ve invested in this trip, I’ve bought a proper backpack, I’ve spent so much money on my own little travel pharmacy so I can be better safe than sorry.
I have normal pain relievers
I have laxatives and stuff for diarrhea so I’m prepared for both ends of the stick.
Got travel sickness tablets
All sorts of band-aids, bandage, blister bands, liquid, mouth ulcer, and some talcum powder to decrease chafing on a very hot moist day and long walk…
I have Mosquito spray, tablets for cough and colds, Hydrocortison cream, and cream for foot infection and foot fungus
I have loads of antibacterials and wound cleaners,
My daily essentials, Allergy tablets, my thyroid medicine, some lactic acid bacteria tablets to prevent getting sick in a changed environment with a lot of different food and water, and my Malaria vaccine tablets that I need to take once a week, so I’ve bought myself a little pill box so I can remember all this stuff.
My suitcase is packed, all I need is to pack my backpack, and then… try and relax the rest of the day, as Im leaving tomorrow morning… It’s exciting but scary… I’m going to put together a playlist with Papa Wemba, and some African folk music, and the national anthem, haha, so I recognize it if it comes up, and of course, my current ringtone, Africa – by TOTO.
KEEP YOUR FINGERS CROSSED FOR ME! KENYA HERE I COME!
